Verizon posts 4th Quarter Loss

Verizon had 13,000 lay offs last year and is expected to do the same this year. With their land line business shrinking and stiff competition in the wireless market, Verizon faces a tough road ahead. The economy hasn’t helped, but Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg feels 2011 will be the turn around year. New MagicJack for Cell Phones

Use your cell phone without using any minutes on your plan. Ymax announced at the CES 2010 that they are developing a MagicJack for cell phones. Much like the original MagicJack, which uses your home broadband connection for phone calls, the new cell phone MagicJack will utilize the same technology. Cell Phone Service Provider Price War

Verizon Wireless was the first to drop their unlimited calling plan rate Tuesday, followed by the other 2 big providers, AT&T and Sprint. Verizon now charges $70 for unlimited calling, a drop of 30%. AT&T added features to their all inclusive plan, and Sprint added surfing. Does this remind you of the price wars we used to see between gas stations? Read the rest of this entry »
