Asus demonstrated its 7-inch Android Memo tablet, including phone accessory, at the CeBit in Hanover, Germany last week. After CES, which takes place in Las Vegas in January every year, CeBIT is the next big tradeshow that showcases the latest digital innovations. Asus showcased its small 7″ tablet with the Android OS 2.2, but assured everyone that it would be shipping with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS as soon as April 2011. Pricing is reported to come in around $499-$699, depending on the options you choose.

Verizon is rumored to make the big iPhone announcement tomorrow. According to ZDNet and countless blogs, Verizon has scheduled an announcement tomorrow which includes Steve Jobs (Apple) as a speaker. The much anticipated Verizon iPhone is expected to be announced tomorrow, with availability as soon as the end of the month. This announcement is scheduled for 11:00 am EST on 1/11/11. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will show off “a slew of new slates” at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. This is according to a report in the New York Times. Microsoft did the same thing last January, and sales were flat for the Windows 7 tablets. HP then postponed their launch of the Windows 7 tablet supposedly because they bought Palm because the WebOS was more suitable for tablets. O’Car is not a new Irish type of car. O’Car is a car stereo which uses the iPhone as its display and control panel. Why the Irish sounding name? The O’Car stereo really comes from Oxygen Audio. It has an iPhone swiveling dock so you can just drop your iPhone in there and use it for display and control. There is also an RDS radio tuner and a 4×55-watt amp, so you can still tune in to something when you forget your phone. (As if you would become detached from your precious iPhone….) The iPhone charges when it’s docked, and you can make and receive calls via the integrated Bluetooth hands-free kit. Sonim CEO Bob Plaschke challenged a reporter at the CES 2010 to try to break the new Sonim XP1 cell phone. Much to his dismay the reporter, captured on YouTube (see below), broke the phone’s screen on the third strike against the side corner of an aquarium used to demonstrate the waterproof abilities of the phone.
