Rumors of Facebook Phone are False

In late January, FoxNews.com/Gadgets reported there would be a new HTC Facebook phone launched this month. FoxNews obviously didn’t do their homework. Not only did they announce that the new Facebook phone would be launched this month in Barcelona, but the photo they shared was a mock-up of an iPhone rather than the HTC phone they reported would be launched. (See photo.) After doing some more thorough research, FoxNews posted another story the very next day stating the Facebook phone rumors were false. Facebook Allows Access to Your Personal Info (Again!)

Once again Facebook is making headlines. This isn’t necessarily a good thing. This time, Facebook has allowed third party developers access to your street address and cell phone information. This information was made public on January 14th. As of the 18th, Facebook rescinded permission for app developers to have access. Isn’t this like closing the barn door after the horse is gone? Gmail Extends Free Calls through 2011

Google introduced phone call capabilities through Gmail back in August. Google promised calls in the US and Canada would be free until the end of 2010. Dino Zaharakis has designed a stand to fit the iPad, iPhone, virtually all Smartphones and eReaders, like the Kindle. The 11 year old from Pennsylvania accepted a challenge from his father to design a better stand for his iPad, and also a website to market it. The prize? Dino’s dad would buy him a new cell phone. Verizon iPhone Will Explode Apple’s Stock

When Verizon finally gets the iPhone 4, Apple’s stocks will skyrocket. This is according to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. Munster is so sure that Verizon will have the iPhone 4 in early 2011 that he has included Verizon in his Apple sales estimates for next year. New BudPhone Gives Canadian Cell Phone Users Free Long Distance

According to an article in Marketwire, Canadians are paying as much as 25 cents per minute for long distance on their cell phones, even within their own country.
