The just released Droid X was supposed to get the upgrade by the end of July, but as a Droid X owner, I have not seen the upgrade yet. Verizon announced a five-fold increase in data use in the first week after the Droid X was released. Verizon Wireless saw a similar surge in mobile data use when it introduced the original Motorola Droid in November 2009. The new phones, Kin One and Kin Two will hit the US market in May through Verizon, and through carrier Vodafone Group PLC (which owns Verizon Wireless in partnership with Verizon Communications Inc.), in Germany, Italy, Spain and The United Kingdom later this fall.
