Lately I’ve noticed that whenever I’m on vacation I seem to forget all my responsibilities and live completely and irresponsibly in the moment. This holds true for everything ranging from taking my vitamins to checking email. It is also true for charging my cell phone.
When I’m at home, I have my set routines. Every night before bed I set my alarm on my phone for the next day, and then plug in my phone to charge for the night. This way the battery in my phone never dies. I just have a standard battery for my Samsung Blast, so charging it every night is important.
When I’m on vacation I typically do not charge my phone for one of two reasons:
- I forget to charge my phone
- I’m too lazy to bother getting out of bed to charge it once I’m in bed and remember to do so.
Therefore, my battery constantly dies when I’m on vacation. This can be troublesome, especially because vacation is the time when a phone is particularly important for making plans, meeting up with people, and the like.
This is why I’m looking into buying a cell phone battery with an extended life. Extended batteries may cost a bit more, but they allow for more talk-time. Aftermarket batteries can be found at online retailers at reasonable prices for the added value. Note: some phone models will also require an new back cover to accommodate the larger battery, make sure you read the fine print before buying.
