Droid X was released on July 15th and was sold out by the next day. The rush to buy the new Droid X vastly exceeded Verizon’s expectations. Rallying to the demands, Verizon and Motorola had more for shipping out on July 23rd.
Droid X is a SELL OUT!
The Droid X is this summer’s hot new Google Android Smartphone. The Droid X is selling for $200, after a $100 online discount on Verizon’s site. It has a large 4.3 inch display, an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, and runs on a 1GHz processor with Android 2.1 on board. That is twice as fast as the original Motorola Droid.
Did the iPhone4’s much publicized problems contribute to the high demand for the Droid X? Perhaps. Another issue was the repeated postponement of Verizon carrying the iPhone. It is now reported to be coming to Verizon after the first of the year.
Do you still want to get a Droid X? It appears some Verizon stores across the country still have limited numbers of the device, but you won’t be able to get the instant $100 discount. Instead, you will have to get the $100 mail-in rebate.
Will Droid X sales top the iPhone4’s record 1.7 million? Guess we will have to wait and see. I bought a Droid X on the 15th online, taking advantage of the instant $100 savings. I love it! My only complaint is that it doesn’t have the slide out keyboard like the original Droid. I am adjusting…
