Once again Naomi Campbell is in the news for using her cell phone as a weapon. The first week of March, Naomi allegedly hit her limo driver with her cell phone while he was driving her to the set of a movie. (The driver later recanted his story, but under what duress?)
Serial Cell Phone Abuser?
Naomi Campbell has a history of using phones and cell phones to hit her employees. In 1988, Naomi assaulted Georgina Galanis, her then assistant, with a telephone in a hotel room. In March 2005, Naomi was reported to have hit her assistant, Amanda Brack, about the head with her BlackBerry personal organizer. And then in March 2006, Campbell hit her housekeeper, Ana Scolvina, with a jewel-encrusted mobile phone, resulting in a bloody head that required several stitches. With this latest episode, the pattern seems to be that March is a bad month for her.
Using a cell phone to beat her help may be Naomi’s way of “communicating.” I doubt the cell phone manufacturers had this in mind. It gives a whole new meaning to Verizon’s “Can You Hear Me Now?”
Naomi Campbell needs to have a serious “time out.” Perhaps she just needs to be locked up in March? The therapy sessions Naomi has been court ordered to attend only seem to be working part of the year. Anyone who uses their cell phone to assault someone (See my blog Cell Phone as Weapon) should have more consequences than community service and anger management classes. Naomi may be a super star, but her employees probably just refer to her as the “Wicked Witch” or worse…
